Lac Annecy

Lac Annecy … 24 miles round

Start .. Veyrier du lac

Clockwise round the lake

An easy uphill few miles from Veyrier du lac passing pretty lakeside chalets with fragrant gardens full of honeysuckle and Jasmine, through the small town of Menton Bernard and onwards towards Talloires to a curvy downhill descent to the lake shore. The road hugs the shore along with picnickers campervans and sailboats. A fresh breeze blows off the lake as we make our way towards the cycle path. This really is a beautiful easy ride along what I presume was an old railway line. Small cafes, campsites and a few hotels break up the pretty fields and lake views. Annecy is a cycle town with many people in the centre jostling their bikes with shoppers and day trippers. The Tour de France 2013 departed from here and we were among the crowds to see the wonderful cyclists and spectacular event pass by.
